Wife and I decided to get out of indy and take a drive. Ended up in Bloomington on a whim. Saw the reviews and thought it'd be fun to swing in just to see what the fuss was about after diner (and we needed some new lube anyway).
Unsurprisingly the place was not the burning trash pile of bad service that the reviews made it out to be. We didn't need any help because we knew what we were getting but browsed the store anyway. A few guys came in behind us asking about different types of lube and a couple shelf items.
Good to go. Exactly what I expected. Good selection of toys and porn DVDs. A few creeps tried to make conversation with me but that didn't bother me and wasn't the stores fault. Girl behind the cash register was cute and discreet. A lot of these negative reviews are from people who need to lighten up. It's a smut shop. You don't go to the bar and complain about drunks do you?
To the people complaining, i'm not really 100% on the staff issues, but I was broken down, needed a jump and the dude was super friendly, jumped my car and proceeded to talk to me about the issues with customer/employee relationships in the store. I could really understand the issue he was pointing out, people get offended, embarrassed, uncomfortable etc. at an adult store for many reasons, and 99% of them are ludicrous, asinine, and silly. Kind of like being grossed because an employee DID THEIR JOB and assisted you by making sure the product properly worked and held its charge. If you are uncomfortable from someone TOUCHING an item you are thinking about buying just wash it when you get home for christ sake. Its like bashing an employee for touching the toilet seat in a retail store while they clean it... Anyways, went back with the better half a few weeks later, dude seemed chill and wasn't sketchy or weird at all. Had really long hair and identical to Jay from JaSB
The 2 lovely ladies behind the counter weren't shy about hopping right in there and giving them the info the needed. Explained the difference between water based and silicone based lubes, explained how they interact with the body and with the specific products they wanted, and did so while being down to earth and professional.
We (my husband and i) used to be regular visitors at this place, however after tonight we'll not be going back. We have never, in 2+years, been treated so poorly by the staff, nor have we ever felt so unwelcome. I guarantee we will NEVER visit this place again. And other customers were saying the same as we were walking out.
The lube here is phenomenal and there are so many options! The place is a dump, and I can see why it scares people away, but it's close by.
oh and btw. Any store that DOESN'T confirm that the product is functional before letting it out the door better have a cash in-hand return policy. Just sayin.
