*I have paint drips on an area rug and several places on the floor throughout the rooms including on top of my refrigerator.
*Tools were placed on a very expensive piece of furniture and on the dining room table even after I noted this to the owner and left a note for the painters. In fact, it was done again on the same day I removed a sharp object and placed on the floor with the note. I came home and it was on the dining room table.
Did a fantastic job on my place. Did all the required drywall repair and then some, and did an amazing job with the painting, highly recommend.
It was an experience I would not wish for you. Painters did not show up at all when they said they would. Then they would show up on days they didn't forewarn me. I got an email one day saying after their meeting they may be able to come that day. Then did not hear from them for days. Very expensive especially for the quality and service given.
We are SO happy with the results. The team did a fabulous job. I'm very particular with things being "perfect" and the finished project was that.
Sounds like Amanda W. (Above) encountered some of the same issues.
A job supposed to take just a few days took over three weeks. I repeatedly told them that I was having major surgery and could not have job done right up to when I had my surgery. I needed time to put my home back together. Due to the pain I was experiencing, I had to take it slowly. The equivalent of two small rooms were painted, and a few cabinets-not many! Having a small living space, I was forced to live in very confined spaces because I was told first thing to push all my furniture to the center of the two small rooms which I did but it was long before any actual painting began. I had to step over things or squeeze between them. It wasn’t a safe way to live that long. My cupboards had all been emptied with contents boxed and stored wherever I could find places for them around my home. I couldn't have people or family over for all that time. It was very inconvenient and difficult to prepare food in the kitchen. My cabinet doors were taken the first day. I never saw them again until the last day. So their contents were not easily accessible for even simple food prep.
We were really frustrated with the bad communication from Color Theory. It took 2.5 days to hear from them to schedule the job after paying the deposit, even after we called them and left two voicemails during business hours. We had two rooms painted with them by two different painters. The first painter was over an hour late. The room had paint stripped from the trim and got paint on the ceiling and floor. We also had to ask the painter to fill the nail holes in the wall after we saw they hadn't done that after the first coat. We emailed Torlando that evening, Friday, to let him know about the issues with that room and he literally never responded to us. He just asked the painter that finished the other room on Monday to take care of it. She was super sweet and took care of the paint on the floor and the stripped trim spots. We still have paint on our ceiling. The other room had a few stray drips of paint, one on our new curtains, which was a bummer, but overall the paint job looked nice. We were expecting a company with amazing customer service that expertly prepared walls for painting and took amazing care to cover belongings and not make a mess - like their site says - and that's not at all what we got. We could have saved a lot of money and hired someone cheaper for the service we got.
*When you have to tell the company after they tell you they have finished the job that half of the painted cabinet door hinges were partly repainted and that many of the screws were stripped and left in, then you have your confirmation that the painters are not qualified yet to do this work and at the price they charged to paint the cabinets. You can see the ordinal color plain as day. I thought I was hiring professional painters.
We hired Color Theory to paint two bathrooms in our home. The master bathroom is a difficult space with very high ceilings and a skylight area that needed drywall work as well as painting.
Highly professional - thorough, organized, tidy, and especially pleased with the conscientious communications. A very well run operation. An altogether pleasant and satisfying experience.
They are the best painters we have had since living in Bloomington and we will definitely have them back to do work again.
