We had some siding come off during a wind storm so we called Sure Seal for an estimate. They quoted a reasonable price and told us they could have it done quickly. We went ahead and set up the repair and paid the fee. A week went by and we heard nothing from Sure Seal. They never even bothered to come out and cover the bare spot on our house to protect it from weather and/or further damage. We tried calling, but we kept getting evasive answers on how much longer it would be before they would be out to fix anything. After calling a few more times they did finally send someone out to cover the bare spot on the house (over a week after we made payment). Several days went by after they came out to cover the bare spot and still no phone calls from Sure Seal to let us know when they would be coming by to fix the siding. We called again to ask when they were going to be there. That was when they FINALLY gave us a firm date and time of when they would send someone out.
Also, I was told that someone would contact me about finishing up as I had also contracted them to replace my gutters. I heard nothing from them. Then when I was on vacation, the person watching our pets asked if we were getting work done as there were people on the roof. This in itself didn't bother me much except that when we got home from vacation, one of the downspouts was hanging off of the home completely disconnected. I assume this was because the connector was a bit bent up and took some fiddling to get it on (took me about 15 minutes and I have no idea what I am doing). Maybe it fell off after but I find that unlikely as I have it pretty snug in there now. If it had rained while we were gone the majority of the water would have been channeled right down the foundation of my house which has happened once before and caused some water damage at the base of my stairs. Luckily it didn't, but I consider this a pretty large oversight as it could have caused a real problem.
First I will say what was good about my experience. The gentleman that I was my main point of contact, Derick, was always friendly and available or he would return my calls quickly. The roof appears to be solid ( I am no expert), was done in a day, and the they cleaned up all of the shingles and construction materials quite thoroughly. They also got to my roof fairly quickly after we signed. It was a week or just slightly more believe. Their estimate was also very competitive compared to the other company that gave me one.
Edit: I was contacted shortly after posting in an effort to make things right. Because of this, I am updating to three stars. I will continue updating as the situation is resolved.
Sure seal came and took care of the issues described below and did so in a professional and friendly way. I would recommend them for future jobs.
I used Sure Seal for my roof replacement and they did a phenomenal job! The process was timely and efficient. Derek, the project manager, was very helpful throughout the process and always answered my calls when I had a question. The workers did a great job of cleaning up afterwards as well. I would definitely recommend Sure Seal to anyone looking to get their roof replaced.
I reached out to Sure Seal Restorations to set up a free estimate to replace a leaky gutter down spout. My first call was bounced to their voicemail system but a return call to me was made within an hour or so. They were able to make it to my home the same day to take a look. Jeremy and Jason noticed hail damage to the whole gutter system and asked for my permission to do a complete exterior inspection for storm damage and I agreed. They found hail and wind damage on several areas of my home and was able to get my entire roof covered along with my gutters, out door lighting, and new siding on half of my home. The installation was very timely and the work crew was very professional and cleaned up nightly between each stage of the project. I am overly satisfied with the look of the new exterior of my home and the professionalism of this company. I will highly recommend them to anyone.
Since then, the section of siding that Sure Seal replaced has come off twice. The first time it came off, we called Sure Seal to come back out and fix it. The second time it came off, we decided it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with their company or their poor workmanship so we called another company in town. We haven't had any problems with that section of siding since.
Derek is great! The crew who put in our laminate in the entire house where very efficient and cleaned up very well. I would recommend to do all your work!
Unfortunately there were a couple of frustrations. The main one being that the retaining wall for our driveway got messed up. My property has several obstructions around the house, and understandably the workers wanted the trucks to be as close as possible to the house. I assume this in order to just throw the waste directly in the truck from the roof and possibly for other reasons I am not aware of. However, they felt removed some of the stones from our retaining wall for the driveway in order to drive the trucks 10 feet closer to the house. Of course, when you remove part of the wall and drive a truck over it, the gravel and dirt was mashed forward and retaining wall stones will not go back the way they were and look crooked now where the trucks drove over. They didn't try to replace the stones, I found this out on my own a couple of days later when I started cleaning it up. It is going to take some labor to get it looking good again (have you ever tried to dig at gravel?), and I don't appreciate having to do the extra work when we are paying the price that a new roof costs. Along with this, they made some holes in my yard where they got stuck trying to get out. Not a big deal except that I was told that they would be back to try and clean all this up but I have received no word and its a few weeks later. I'll just fix the hole myself.
Edit: I did forgot to mention another positive. Derick made it a point to come out to the property when my insurance agent was here in hopes that he could help in getting some of the roof covered. Although I didn't end up getting anything, he did make the effort.
Edited to add: It took two weeks for them to do any work, but they managed to reply to my review in just two days. Tells you a lot about this company's priorities... And then going so far as to claim that my negative review can't possibly be real and that I must be a competing business? Yikes!
