Good service. They communicate really well and fixed our issue. I highly recommend.
Plus the owner talked my ear off about creationism the whole time. Keep it to yourself dude. No one cares.
Just took my car to my hometown mechanic (I made the 90 minute drive to know I could trust the work) and it turns out both the upper and lower motor mounts needed replaced. The lower was still the original, and the upper was too small and was jerry-rigged using nuts, bolts, and bearings to get it to fit. I have attached a photo of the pieces from my car - that my mechanic so kindly kept for me - to show just how small the motor mount is.
Two months later, my brakes started making the exact same noise, so I brought my car in again. A few days later, a mechanic informed me that the shop had completed the exact same repairs. What a joke. Brake pads don't wear out in two months. They couldn't be bothered to take a more in-depth look at the brakes/wheels even though my car was showing signs of something more problematic than worn out pads. This time they replaced the parts at no charge but, surprise surprise, the same noises reappeared within a few months.
Update:
Tl;dr do not go here unless you enjoy dealing with sketchy, condescending people who like to rip you off, take short cuts, and dismiss you.
They torqued my tire on so tight that I had to be towed when I got a flat!! I couldn't get it off... Even the tow truck I called couldn't get it off. What a waste of money!!!
BEWARE: females and young (potentially new to understanding the world of cars) people, they take full advantage of you!!
98 Buick was taken in because the rear driver side wheel caught on fire. They "fixed" it by replacing emergency brake cables and wheel cylinders. When we picked it up, we asked "will it catch on fire again?" they promised it would not. Within 2 weeks, the exact same wheel caught on fire again. Took the vehicle to Midas - where they actually fixed the problem - and asked for a refund from High Speed. They refused. Entered a dispute with Chase credit. Midas stated what was wrong with the repairs, but High Speed sent a letter to Chase with MULTIPLE outright lies and refused to give a refund. STAY AWAY from these CROOKS!!!
My car was vibrating and had a ticking noise coming from the front end so I took it in to have it checked out. Got a call a few days later that it was good to go and had the 2 lower control arms and upper motor mount replaced. I noticed two new noises while driving it home and the vibration had worsened. So I took it back to have it double checked. Four days later they called me back and said it was ready. When I asked what was wrong they tried to avoid telling me and eventually said (direct quote), "Sweetie, don't take this the wrong way but your car is old. That's why it's making so many sounds." No dip its old...that's why it needs repairs lol. And that's not why I brought it back the second time. I reminded them that I had brought it back because of noises that weren't there when I took it in the first place. So, after prying a little bit I was finally told that they had put the motor mount on backwards using a part size that was too big. When I drove it home again the vibration was still there so they did not fully diagnose/fix the problem. I paid $866 for a few parts and a WHOLE lot of inconvenience. It definitely felt like they were trying to hide their mistake from me and they talked to me like I was an airhead. C I will never go back here again.
Within 5 minutes of walking into this shop, my gut told me to walk away. I should have listened. The mechanic I initially spoke with dismissed my concerns about a rattling noise in the engine area simply because I couldn't replicate the problem on-site (I later discovered that the sound was coming from worn-out engine mounts, so I wasn't imagining things). A few days later, the shop called to say that over $500 in repairs (front rotor and brake pad replacements, oil change) had already been completed. A mechanic should inform you of needed repairs BEFORE completing them. I asked why these parts needed to be replaced, and the mechanic reassured me that they were worn out due to age.
