The staff was very kind in explaining what they were doing every step of the way. Great quality of customer care is hard to find these days, but the guys at Meineke always take great care of me. It's the only place I'll go to get my car looked at because I trust them to give me honest answers and advice on how to fix the problem. Keep up the good work guys!
$700 for rear brakes and rotors and a master cylinder replacement. Looked up the parts online, $120 retail.. so I'm paying $580 for labor when that shouldn't take more than 90 minutes! No thanks.
I don't get the feeling that they are trying to scam me. Which makes me feel good. They're some nice oily men.
I've been quite the proponent of Ellettsville Meineke. They have in the past had some good deals (Buy 4 or 5 and get one free oil change). We've been fans. Then there was my wife's experience today... had the true "slimy used car sales" tactics. Given, the cabin filter was terribly dirty. She said yes to that (of course no price was shared). I recognize the convenience involved so I don't expect a filter from a quickie oil change place to be the same price as a filter from O'Reilly's. But $29.95 hit me pretty hard when I saw the invoice. I looked online. Napa (known to be anything but cheap) had the filter for $12.14. Another charge over and above the oil change was something like "preferred service treatment" for $15.00. My wife specifically asked for "the same thing we always get." They have us in the computer. It's usually a super smooth, comfortable, not-slimy experience. We can only wonder if she was given some high-end oil that she did not ask for. So we still don't know what this $15.00 charge was for. $72 later, we got an oil change and a cabin filter. Wake up Meineke. The CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE is becoming more and more important in today's marketplace. Maybe they hired a hot dog salesman that used to work as a service writer at a dealership. Maybe a used car salesman is now selling oil changes. Who knows? I won't write them off, but I couldn't help but notice this negative experience at the Meineke in Ellettsville that my wife had today.
