DR. WOO WAS READY TO YANK MY TOOTH NOT KNOWING I NEEDED AN ANTIBIOTIC!
Dr. Woo sits down besides me and starts asking me all the questions his assistant had just asked me. So, at least I had the answer to my question---clearly not.
I open my mouth and Dr. Woo looks around and pokes here and there for cavities (none found). Then he tells me what I already know: I need two dental implants and I have a tooth that needs to come out.
On the OM she flirts way to much with the male patients. I could go into great detail but out of respect I will not. I was amazed at her actions.
Dr. Woo's really pushing my need for the implants, coming back to the subject three times, despite me plainly telling him it's in my future, not immediate, plans. Dr. Woo said he'd take that tooth out today, though, and yes, they could get the cleaning done, too. We'll have you talk to the office manager about the costs.
Although I wasn't promised, the woman I spoke with made it sound like it wouldn't be a problem by saying things like "we can usually work that in after the exam" and "that's normally not a problem." She also said it depends on the doctor's schedule, which was weird since the doctor wouldn't be cleaning my teeth.
I am still trying to understand Aspen Dental. I was very much miss lead from my first interview. You are promised things and it doesn't happen. Advancement is not an option.
Aspen was a good place to work. Then it started going down hill fast. The training sucks so much. If it wasn't for my fellow PSR I wouldn't of got the training I needed (what a great person).
I made an appointment online with Aspen Dental and later called to ensure I'd at least get my teeth cleaned b/c the tooth extraction would need to be rescheduled. The antibiotic I needed because of TKAs hadn't arrived in the mail.
I had a broken tooth that was painful due to an exposed nerve. It needed to be pulled. I also wanted my teeth cleaned.
I started to tell him, but he was already gone. There was no threat to my health, of course, but I knew right then Dr. Woo wasn't pulling anything of mine, except maybe my leg.
This place is a sad sad place.
If you choose Aspen Dental, you will regret it.
Rather than shoot for 5 stars they decided they would rather have 20 stars one at a time.
You work hard for your money and your benifits. Do not waste them here. You will find a better price, atmosphere, staff, and quality of work just about anywhere else.
Well, that changed things a bit. Now, the OM's telling me we might have to schedule that for a later date. I reply, "But, Dr. Woo just said..." and "the woman on the phone...." Her response, an angry bark, was, "were you promised that?" Whoa!
Aspen Dental are very professional, They know what they are doing and they are very kind. So far sense I have been going to Aspen Dental they do their best to take care of me and my wife. I highly recommend Aspen Dental for all Bloomington Indiana area. Compared to these other dentist I have seen, Aspen Dental have the best customer service & knowledge on how to treat patients. Thanks Aspen Dental and keep up the good work.
I think that they miss lead people on the pricing and what insurance is going to cover (that is the office manager).
Patient from 2012-2016. Walked in for my appointment, waited 25 minutes to be seen by the x-ray tech. Tech told me the doctor was busy since they were short an assistant and possibly couldn't perform my procedure I assumed I had made an appointment for 2 days prior. Waited 30 minutes for the doctor to come "examine" me for literally only 20 SECONDS, only for him to try to schedule me an appointment at a later date to fix the HOLE in my tooth! Prior to my "exam", the guy next to me had to beg to be seen today to remove a tooth that the doctor confirmed had an abscess. He was waiting before me and was told to sit back in the waiting area and they'll "try" to work him in by noon!!! It was barely 9am! But he agreed because of his pain and not being able to get off work again. That's my point, I took time off work to waste my time at this office. You knew what I needed, if you were unable to do it that day, notify me ahead of time, let me find other options or reschedule an appointment by phone. But DO NOT waste 1 hour of my morning with procedural b.s. that could've waited until the day of my procedure (filling) just to have me come in to fulfill what ever quota you're trying to fill for the day. After 1 hour of nothing they tried to reschedule me for an appointment 2 weeks later, I "politely" offered to find other dental care and walked out. Don't waste my time!
Now, those of you with insurance might not know it, but on your checkups, the dentist makes very little on the actual teeth cleaning. The money's in the x-rays. As for me, my insurance provides for two checkups, each with x-rays and cleaning, per year. The cost on my end is negligible.
The OM mentions implants and how she's going to explain the costs for everything. Meanwhile, she's doing something on her PC that's taking a while, and now the trainee is going behind the desk to look over her shoulder. Wonderful.
Then in comes Dr. Woo. He wants to know what he can do for me, and I'm thinking, my gosh, didn't anyone tell him why I'm sitting in this chair? Then Dr. Woo looks at the x-rays and ALSO mistakes the location of the tooth. My confidence level dropped considerably at that point.
This repair took 2 appointments. Between the first appointment and the second I got an email ASKING for a review. I gave an honest review and that prompted them to call me to cancel my appointment.
I gave Aspen Dental one star because I wasn't allowed to give none, but I've never had a more horrible experience at a medical professional's office. When I was filling out the paperwork in the waiting room, the little man inside told me to get up and leave. I ignored him. Always obey the little man.
The upshot was that I wasn't getting my teeth cleaned now that the extraction was off, but they'd already done the x-rays. I saw Dr. Woo on the way out and told him off. He said they wouldn't bill for the exam or the x-rays. We'll see.
Okay, shut my mouth, exam light off, and trot over to see the OM for the costs. I walk in her office and she tells me the woman sitting opposite her is in training and will observe our discussion. What she should've done was ASK ME if the trainee could sit in since it's my health and the treatment options that are about to be discussed. So, there's a potential HIPAA violation.
The woman who took my x-rays was very nice and quite professional, although she did mistake which side of my mouth the broken tooth was on. No biggie.
I arrived before my appointment, anticipating the dreaded paperwork. I noted on a form that I had TKAs and needed an antibiotic for oral surgery.
I sit there, doing my crossword puzzle and while her snafu evolves into a clusterfock, I explain I hoped to get my tooth pulled today, but the antibiotics...blah, yada, blah, and I'd still like to get my teeth cleaned.
Work they did failed after just 2 years. When I go in to have it corrected they don't accept any responsibility and not only do I have to pay for the repair they continue to try and up sell me stuff I don't need or want.
