I first shopped at this store in 1982! That's how long Sahara Mart has served Bloomington. It has stayed competitive all these years later by offering ethnic, gourmet and incredible wine selection. The largest choice of ethnic, middle eastern food in the region. Also strong on spices, coffees and teas.
Great place to find specific things. Best wine selection in town, for sure. Definitely check expiration dates, though.
Huge selection of hard to find international items, vitamins and supplements, and wine. They have a minimal produce presence. The prices and quality are spotty, so definitely pay attention. Some things I have found are reasonable, and others are 2-3 times as much as other stores across town. But the staff are usually very friendly and helpful, and the place is enormous. It's always fun to visit and walk the aisles and just see what all is in there.
This place has a great selection including every imaginable spice and many bulk items. I question the freshness of some of their food. There's always a lot a lot of stock there and not many customers. I've had mouldy chocolate before and one had a worm eating it! They always take care of those issues for me, but I'd rather find a place where I didn't have to deal with it in the first place.

Small selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Worth going out of the way for. Knowledgeable staff. Friendly and helpful. Pricing is good. Products excellent. Expanding a new wine room.
