This is the best hotel in Bloomington. I don't see why anyone wouldn't make this their first choice. The downtown location is just steps from The Tap, a fine local microbrewery. The hotel staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. It is one of the only Hyatt properties that remembers to offer my World of Hyatt perks. The hotel is new, clean, and dog friendly. The bed is comfy and there are tons of channels on the big screen tv. The shower has a clear door and the toilet flushes. There is a couch. Weekend parking is also a great deal; it's free downtown. So don't bother paying the hotel unless it's snowing. Bloomington is also a nice place to visit. They have a college. And college students. And a brewery or two or three or five. They have donuts. Square donuts. It was a pleasurable visit.
We were checked in immediately after walking in the door. The room is clean and very neat despite us arriving nearly 3 hours before the check-in time. Everyone has been friendly and wished us a good day or a nice stay. The hotel is just across the street from two restaurants and a few bars. Down the block is the heart of downtown, several restaurants, stores, and bars. I definitely recommend the Hyatt as the go-to hotel in Bloomington!
Sub-par food options.
This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had! Upon arrival, I had to wait 10 minutes to be acknowledged to Check in. We were informed of all these places that were open (we specifically asked due to the Thanksgiving holiday), and not a single place was open!!! Upon walking finding everything closed we went into the bar, and waited for 20 minutes without EVER BEING SERVED, acknowledged, or anything! We stood up and walked out and walked right past the main attendant who didn’t speak or acknowledge us! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! We have had better stays at Hilton, Hampton Inn, etc and they were all cheaper, more hospitable, and accommodating! This was the worst trip ever... and it was our Special annual date out. We won’t make the mistake of giving our business to Hyatt ever again! This hotel is a joke and should be ashamed at the poor quality of service they offer!

DIRTY SHEETS - do NOT stay here. I’ve booked a room here twice and each time I’ve had dirty sheets on my bed with visible hair and filth. I gave this place a second chance because it’s close to downtown and the newest hotel, but each time I’ve had dirty, disgusting bedding. Not worth it. Find another hotel with clean sheets.
