Great interior, nice and clean! Service was great. Food - tortilla soup was flavorful a bit over salted, beet salad was delicious. They are new, and will hit their stride, we're a fan!!!
One of the owners is also the head chef, and you can tell. The food is incredible! It is obvious that they care a lot about your experience. The servers are all genuine which I appreciate...BEST BREAKFAST IN INDIANA, sorry Grandma ;)
My family and I decided to give this a try as our Sunday morning breakfast today. We were greeted with friendly faces and were promptly seated. Our drinks were brought in a reasonable amount of time. This is where it started to go down hill. Our order was taken and food brought out after a little longer than I would have liked to wait.The food looked like it had been prepaired by a college student trying to cook for their parents. I found veggies that we're so hard to chew they were left to be thrown away. Eggs that had assumed room temp again. And wait staff that could only apologize for forgetting drink refills. It was over priced and just chalked full of disappointment. I may try them again after some more time but I seriously doubt that they will still be open when I am ready to.
Food was decent, though a little on the cold side. Our server was non-existent. When we were seated, he did a walk-by and dropped water off at the table. Never said "Hi", never introduced himself (we only knew of his name after we saw it printed on our bill), never checked on us throughout our meal. He stopped by to take our order 10 minutes after he dropped off the water and then vanished until he dropped off the bill. The woman that brought out our food (sorry, don't know her name) checked on us twice afterwards and asked how we were doing -- but not our own server. The restaurant seemed to have 3 or 4 servers and the place only seemed to have 6 or 7 tables with people, so I'm not sure why the service was lacking. But based on this customer service interaction, we won't be going back any time soon.
Clearly it is a new place and the seemingly inexperienced staff is still getting up to speed. We had no issues with our order other than not receiving the toast that was supposed to be with my omelette (which I didn't even realize until after we left). Our pancakes were delicious and the veggie omelette was good - not Uptown level but not bad. The table next to us didn't receive their initial coffee order and had to ask for it after several minutes. We just had to ask for creamer twice. I've seen plenty of widely differing reviews which I'd chalk up to inexperience among all levels of the staff.
