Went here for the first time for breakfast on a weekday a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is cozy without feeling cramped. I had the Hoosier Mama (vegetarian biscuits and gravy) and it was delicious! My mom had their hot cereal of the day which was a maple oatmeal. She really enjoyed it and said it tasted like it was made in-house and not store bought. The biscuit basket is also tasty, along with the butters and jams that come with it.
A very eclectic spot with a minimal menu! They had some good options for the everyday eater and some more unique offerings as well. The fish tacos were really good, nicely portioned and had great flavor. The tomato soup was excellent and had a unique pureed texture and was full of flavor. Highly recommend trying it out. The fresh raspberry lemonade was a little tart for my taste though.
This is one of our favorite places to eat breakfast or brunch in downtown Bloomington. They offer organic and farm fresh foods in creative and very tasty menu choices. The atmosphere has a rustic farmhouse flair combined with a quaint and bustling downtown pub, if that makes any sense. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is wonderful and they seem to change the menu according to the season.
Went to a Halloween themed buffet style thing. The theme was cool. Food was hit or miss. The meats (except the meatloaf) were delicious. Sides... not so much. I went into this understanding it was $25 a person and expected to tip a waitress. An exuberent tip comes already preloaded on the bill. Our bill was around $70. Both of us ordered water and had a refill... one. So... considering this was a buffet, we tipped her $10 for each visit to our table... without our say so. Yikes. I understand that this isn't a Denny's, but I make tips for a living. I would be fired for demanding a tip. Don't do this. Not good business practices. Your tips should reflect on your performance. For the price, I expect a lot better all around.
Made a reservation for a date night dinner. Got there about 6:30, seated right away and had a great dinner. I had salmon with capers and Jim had a bison burger. Service was terrific as usual. Great date.
