I like this place. it seems like they need to pay attention to smaller details like replacing the dead flowers on the tables. Those seem like a metaphor for the place, dying and in need of freshening up. The food was good and we had an excellent server. I recommend it.
Our first time there. It seemed poorly managed. After about 10 minutes a server came and asked if we were helped just before we were ready to walk out. She seemed like one of few that knew what was going on. Although even with a bartender whom wasn't busy all the servers were behind the bar getting their own drinks. Majority of which were on the house for the lack of service. Looking around it was hard to tell who were servers, runners, and so on. If it was better run and managed it may have been a better experience
New decor is nice, and it seemed quieter than before. It took us three 3 time to order a white wine that they had in stock, the food was good but not fabulous. I know they're making some changes so hopefully service will pick up in the future.
I came here today for my graduation dinner, after reserving weeks ago. The experience was really a letdown, unfortunately. I have gone to sweet grass many times through the past few years, and know there have been a few changes in management. I was hopeful Sweetgrass was improving, as I really like this restaurant. That is why I felt literally embarrassed when I brought my family here, and the experience and service was disappointing. When I set my reservation, I was told that for graduation day, dinner would be served earlier, but when we arrived dinner was still set for 5pm (we got there at 4 and were told dinner could not start early, which we accepted as a miscommunication). But then, they were out of a few different drinks/beer others ordered, and ran out of another drink my dad was having (after he had only had one). We would be told that refills/ appetizers were coming, but had to remind or hunt down the waitress, and were told there was miscommunications on that. Some orders were not correct. At one point, we were also told that a reason they were out of things was because it was graduation weekend and we need to calm down. But that she was joking and we need to take a joke. Honestly, the place was empty and dinner hadn’t even started, so this excuse seemed ironic. Either way, everything was dealt with really unprofessionally. My only grad dinner was basically ruined by a place I talk highly of, and that is pretty upsetting. No apologies for anything, always an excuse, and I felt pretty unwelcome by the end. Last time I’m going here, bad memories.
I've been here a couple of times. Both times the food pretty good. I love the johnnycake with bacon butter. Service is not so great. Last time there was hardly anyone else and my server took forever. The food had to have sat in the window as the johnnycake was already cold. I could here her chit chatting with other workers. Not sure if I'll go back.
Food was okay. Looking at the outside it looks like a great restaurant. Was not impressed but may give it one more chance.
