I had to confront bullies at Soma off of Kirkwood Avenue, because the management didn't care that they were making sexually degrading comments about the male genital, out loud, about me. These bullies were young adults and looked like college-age-crowd. I was told to go. I asked why they were allowed to bully me and trash my family, but I had to leave. The male employee who came to talk to me, said that "He didn't hear anything." I have heard the employees there remarking on how I was being treated before in there, but never do anything to that crowd that make others like me, feel uncomfortable. It is almost as if they tolerate this for the sake of the college-age-crown and making money. Yet, when someone like me has to stand up to these bullies, I am made to feel that I am in the fault and need to leave. I have been in here before & actually hear the staff remarking on how I was being bullied before (and of course did nothing). Other customers said that "they were doing that to him" as I was leaving. I doubt the employees or management cared, though. I was a paying customer, not a homeless person & an older 52-year-old man. I find it odd that businesses that make most of their money off of the college-age-crowds, actually enable this behavior while doing nothing about it, except if I stand up for myself. May the point is, we older people are expected to "tolerate" bullying & harassment, so that these businesses don't have to care. Yet, I am not allowed to stand up for myself. I wish this city had a no-bullying & sexually-degradation policy in place for businesses in town. That crowd who did this to me yesterday, makes me think of & reminds me of the type of people who took the lives of other college students. I do get bullied frequently in this town & in many businesses. It is just too bad that this is allowed, encouraged or enabled by employees & management.

The PB Cup of Joe is my favorite decadent coffee drink - chocolatey and packed with real, organic peanut butter. Despite the high quality, the prices seem a bit steep for this area. This location is not the best for studying as it is a bit dark and often crowded. Happy hour, with half price espresso drinks is from 3-4pm!

Nice place to hang out with friends and also to study. Has some books and board games. I loved the place.

Nice place all around. Has a nice atmosphere and a usually comfortable vibe. The only problem I ever had was that they seem to make the back room a haven for the homeless at night which are usually drunk and noisy.

Great coffee but not much for a chill environment because of the layout and lack of space. Happy hour from 3 to 4 is excellent. Dr. D's tonic in the winter months (1/4 slice of beat added) will sooth the weary soul. 4.25 stars.
